Can I stroll around the Mt. Fuji base in April?

by Helga van Lochem
(South Africa)

Can I do an easy stroll around Mt. Fuji's base in April? Is it possible to join a group and do a small trek around the base of Mt. Fuji? I don't have to climb to the top.

Do I need to stay in the area, or is it a day trip from Tokyo ?

No problem

No worries, Helga.

Although April is Mount Fuji's snowiest month and it's off-season for climbing, there should be no problem for strolling at the base or at Mt. Fuji's 5th Station.

There are a number of bus tours to Mt. Fuji you can take from Tokyo which is just 2.5 hours away, so yes there are a number of 1-day options for Tokyo tourists who want to visit Fuji-san: https://www.garyjwolff.com/climbing-mt-fuji-page2.html#30

Have a great trip...
