Conan Doyle, who is the author of the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

by Hitomi Kaku
(Musashino)

I like the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. Do you know the author of this novel?

It is Conan Doyle. He is from Scotland. He’s called the originator of a modern detective story.

The characters in the novel are charming. Especially, Holmes is the best. He has lots of faults. For example, he always makes ironical remarks. But he has a magnetic personality. So I think that the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes is popular all over the world.

And the film was shown in 2009. Robert Downey, Jr. played Holmes. He is so cool, but he is different from my image. However, this film is fun!

Let’s read and see “Sherlock Holmes”!
