How to get my Mount Fuji walking stick stamped a few days before opening season?

by Eva
(Ireland)

Planning to climb Mount Fuji (weather permitting) during the 1st week of July, just a few days before the opening season, as I will be leaving Japan on the 8th of July. The route I will take is Fujinomiya route. As the initially planned route, Yoshida trail, won't allow me to reach the summit before the 10th.

I really want to get a walking stick and get it stamped at each station, but if trail is not yet officially open, will I be able to get it stamped?

Thanks!

Maybe you can get a few stamps at some huts.

Eva, I’m not aware of any place to get your Mt. Fuji walking stick stamped except at the huts, but as you can see from this pdf from last year (https://partners-pamph.jnto.go.jp/simg/pamph/293.pdf), some of the Fujinomiya huts opened before the date you have to leave Japan.

So even if you can’t make it to the summit, you might get lucky with getting a few stamps at some huts.

Happy trails and thanks for visiting my site…

Cheers,
Gary
