Is it possible to take a bus to the Kawaguchiko 5th Station around Christmas?

by Alison
(Canada)

Hi Gary, I am actually visiting Japan in December and will be in Kawaguchiko on Dec 25. Unfortunately, I realize that this is off-season and we will most likely not be doing the summit since the group I am going with is by no means experienced. However, we still want to go up to take a walk around, weather permitting.

I noticed that Ochudo Trail is a flatter trail that I might have a better chance of getting to. I looked up the bus schedule and found that the shuttles will not be running around that time. Is there any other way to get up there and back down in the same day?

Thanks,
Alison

Hi Alison,

According to this timetable, you can get to the 5th Station by bus from Dec. 29th: http://www.japan-guide.com/bus/fuji.html

Cheers,
Gary

Hi Gary,

Thank you so much for the link! I have no idea why I did not see it the first time I was on that site. I may have looked at some outdated schedules since I didn't notice schedules going into 2013.

Regards,
Alison
