Is there lodging at the top of Mt. Fuji?
Mr. Wolff, I am impressed with your website. I am planning the trip of a lifetime with my two teenage boys. I wanted to climb Mt. Fuji during the day, reach the top, then see the sun set. Then I was hoping to sleep on the peak if available then get up for the sunrise. Is there lodging at the top of Mt. Fuji?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Very respectfully, Pete

Hi Pete, thanks for your kind words.
To my knowledge, yes, there are huts at the top.....or close enough that you could maybe crash in one at the 8th or 9th station on your way down, which should still be high enough to catch the sunrise.
This Mt. Fuji mountain huts page shows huts on the main Kawaguchiko Yoshida trail, and below the table are links to pages which list huts on the other 3 trails, some of them at Mt. Fuji's summit.
And if I were you, I'd try to avoid weekends in August! Oh, and be sure to catch the local weather forecast beforehand to ensure that no typhoons are headed our way. Best wishes....
Cheers, Gary
p.s. This question on my Climbing Mt. Fuji FAQ page mentions some alternate climbing plans that might give you some more ideas.
