Mt. Fuji: Up the Yoshida trail & down the Subashiri trail with overnight stay

by Christos Dimitrakakis
(Tokyo, Japan)

Spending just 1-2 hours on the trail after dark to get to the 7th station on the Yoshida trail, viewing the sunrise, and doing the rest in nice morning weather was a great experience, as there were no crowds in the morning (the nighttime ascent was crazy crowded, though).

The hut was also empty around midnight, as everybody tried to climb before dawn. We just enjoyed our coffee with the sunrise instead. :)

Going back down the Subashiri trail was fun, though quite hot even before noon.
