The Ants in Singapore

by Yi Yu
(Chofu, Tokyo)

I have not been to Singapore before, but I have several friends who study there. Once when we gathered together and chatted with each other. One of my friends told us an interesting story about what happened to him.

Many people know that in Singapore there are so many ants! My friend rents a room outside of his university. One day after class, when he was back home, he turned on the TV. But there was no picture. He checked all the connections and found all were ok.

Then, he pulled the video out of the bulkhead and pulled it apart. What he saw really amazed him. The ants had turned half of the transformer inside to powder! And also a lot of dead ants were inside.

I also remembered once I surfed on the Internet and saw someone say that when he traveled in Singapore, maybe the ants ate his tent after a night. There were some small holes in the tent.

After hearing of this, I don't dare to go to Singapore. It's so dangerous.
