What an interesting country -- Italy

by Tian Danyang
(Tokyo, Japan)

What most impressed me about Italy is the noble gangsters there. I heard that as long ago as hundreds of years there was a notable gangster called Sir Hawkwood who would put a man out of business by destroying his shop. When different city states were at war with each other, he would hire his soldiers to the princes who would offer a higher price than he demanded.

Unfortunately, he found that people would rather pay large sums of money in return for protection than have their business destroyed. Sarcastically, later when Hawkwood died at the age of 80, people gave him a state funeral and had a picture of him, which is especially for brave leaders.

Also, the Italy national flag is interesting. Like UEC is short for unique, exciting college, the Italy flag has three colors in it: green, white, and red. They represent hope, faith, and mercy, respectively.
