When does the Hotaka-dake-sanso close in 2017?

by Jonathan

Hi Gary,

We are looking to climb Oku hotaka dake at the end of October 2017 (somewhere in the last week). Is there information available on exactly when the hut will be closing down for winter?

Weather Conditions

Thanks a lot Gary,

Any idea what the weather conditions are likely to be? Does it get so bad that they need to close the hut around that time? It seems we are going to be attempting this hike towards the end of the season.

Jonathan, according to their website, the Hotaka-dake-sanso (穂高岳山荘) mountain hut is open 4/27 till 11/4 in 2017.

Their congestion forecast can be viewed on this page: http://www.hotakadakesanso.com/stay/vacancy

Happy trails...
