When should we call the Fujikan Summit (Chōjō Fuji-kan) mountain hut to make reservations?

We are planning to hike Mt. Fuji on 23 Aug 2016 and want to book 頂上富士館. When should we call the mountain hut since it doesn't open till July?

Can we call in April to make reservations?

Thanks for letting me know

Thank you for your advice!I have already asked my friend's friend in Tokyo to call.

We plan to take Yoshida route up and spend one night at either Toyokan or Taishikan or Hakuunso to acclimatize and watch sunrise at the hut. Is it better to stay at station 7 or 8?

We then plan to hike to the summit and walk around the crater to Fujiksan Summit Hut. Plan to stay there to watch sunset and sunrise. Finally hike down Gotemba route via great sand slide.
Does this itinerary sound feasible? Thanks for any suggestions

You can call now.

David, according to the Fujikan Summit mountain hut (Chōjō Fuji-kan, 頂上富士館) website, they've been accepting reservations for the 2016 climbing season since January 8th. You will need to call or fax them to make reservations (no email!).

According to this page on their website (http://fujisanchou.com/yoyaku-toi.html), you will need to give them:
1) your name
2) the number of people in your party
3) your address
4) your mobile phone number
5) your fax number, and
6) your climbing route

Their telephone reception hours are 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. After they receive your reservation request, they will fax you back with a confirmation if your request is accepted. Confirmations for reservations received on Wednesday will be faxed back the next day. (Their phone/fax numbers are on the page linked above.)

Happy trails...

Gary
