Your website was helpful for summiting Mt. Fuji on July 7, 2016.

Hi Gary,

Just returned from summiting Mt. Fuji on Thurs, 7 Jul 2016. Just wanted to say how helpful your website was in assisting me on my journey.

My friend and I stayed at the Hilton Shinjuku Tokyo. The round trip cost on the Airport Limo Bus was 4500 JPY.

It was about a 10-15 min walk from the Hilton to the Shinjuku West station. We had to purchase our Keio bus ticket from the main Shinjuku Station about 10 min away. Round trip bus fare was 5400 JPY.

We took the bus on Wed, 6 Jul to the 5th station where we rested about 45 min before we started our trek. We hiked to the 8th station where we rested overnight at the Fujisan Hotel. Cost was 8350 JPY which included dinner and breakfast.

Reservations were req'd for the Keio bus and Fujisan hotel. I was trying to figure out how to do this w/ the time zone and language differences. Then a light went off in my head and said "try reserving via the Hilton concierge desk." I emailed them and they made our reservations!! Guess that's an advantage of staying w/ a major hotel.

I must say, my friend and I were sore for two days after summiting. Walking up and down the stairs after summiting was a bit painful. I summited Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp in 2014 and never remembered being so sore. Maybe the ascent was more gradual than Mt. Fuji.

Anyways, really enjoyed the trip. The Japanese people are so polite and courteous!!! Wish we could transfer that to the US!!! There were some language barriers, but nothing that couldn't be overcome.

Thanks, Ray, for taking the time to share your story & congrats on your successful ascent of Mt. Fuji.

I'm sure future climbers will appreciate your tip on getting the hotel concierge to make your reservations.

Well done & thanks again for your valuable time...
